Historical, religious. The son of a Prefect in Rome is condemned to death for being a Christian. No main title. The household try to entertain the Prefect's son, Albanus. The Prefect arrives and brings with him a dancing dwarf, lady and bear but these fail to stir Albanus from his reverie. Albanus is in love with the slave Fabiola. He meets her by the river. She informs him that she is a Christian, showing him the Christian sign on the side of a statue, and will not listen to Albanus until he too is a Christian. Fabiola visits the potter Lycius (Lucius) who is also enamoured of her. However, Fabiola dismisses his advances. In revenge, Lycius follows her to the Christian meeting place where Albanus is being baptised. Lycius informs the Prefect of the meeting. A body of guards is dispatched to the meeting and the Christians arrested. The Christians are brought to trial before the Prefect. His son reveals his identity but is condemned to death. The next day the Prefect goes to collect his son's body. The doors to the arena are thrown open to reveal the crucified body of his son. By the banks of the river two men observe the body of Fabiola floating down the river (621ft). Note: Intertitles in German. (Shotlist)
