Synopsis

INSTRUCTIONAL: A reconstruction of life in Britain in Roman times. R.1. A British village in AD49 of mud huts with thatched roofs (36-46); when danger threatens people rush in and shut the gates in the palings (56-73); the British getting the harvest in (85-102); a Briton hunting a rabbit with a spear (108-143); a Briton basket making (151-168); pottery making (171-209); a Chieftain's house (218-240); a woman spinning (245-290); a harpist in the Chieftain's house (295-304); the Queen crowns herself on the death of the King (318-351); she un-plaits her hair as a sign of mourning (357-396); a girl puts flowers under a tree for spirits she worships (403-432); people listening to a Druid priest (439-464); stone altar of the druids (471-534); the ceremony includes singing and dancing (540-558).
