Comments on the print:
The BFI National Archive unfortunately only holds a 35 mm black-and-white safety negative of 517 feet (157 m.), drawn from a nitrate positive print that no longer exists. This BFI print appears to be unique (at present we are not aware of any Italian archive possessing a print) and contains English intertitles of which the main title card is missing. According to Aldo Bernardini (Il cinema muto italiano, Vol. 1905-1909), the original length was 178 m., while an original bulletin by the company Pineschi states it was 174 m. The BFI print is therefore partially incomplete but seems only to lack the final moments.
